Dirk Smorenberg - Holland Loosdrecht 1883-1960 (Art Deco)

Self-taught Dirk Smorenberg (September 4, 1883 – September 14, 1960) is regarded as one of the few Art Deco painters of the Netherlands. He painted figures, flowers and, in particular, decorative landscapes and water lilies, drawing on the abundant water of the North Holland landscape for inspiration. Smorenberg was an independent and original painter.

I like how peaceful and content this painting looks. It reflects a sense of relaxation within nature somewhere you can just chill and enjoy the scenery.

Sarah Crosbie wallpaper inspired by 1920's Art Deco.

Sarah Crosbie wallpaper inspired by 1920's Art Deco.

What I like about this design is the mixture of bold colours used and outlined shapes. Theres a variety of patterns from stripes to spots and zig zagged lines so your eyes move from one design to another. I love detailed designs where you have to look closer at the picture. I also like how the shapes are repeated throughout the design.
